peter’s cafe sport – porto, portugal

i’m obsessed with this place. if i lived near it i would hang out there all the time! peter’s cafe sport was the recommendation of a family friend who told us to stop in for gin and tonics. (endless thanks!)

it is a historic sailors bar originally located in the azores (portuguese islands) that has been around since 1918 and specializes in gin drinks. we visited the mainland outpost that sits right on the douro river in the old part of porto.

we ordered several rounds of “gin do mar:” gin and maracuja (passion fruit) tonic, they played 80s music the whole time we were there, making it even hard to stop ordering drinks, so we got a snack to hold us over (read: save us from passing out before dinner). i seriously would have been happy staying there all night!

bummed we didn’t find out until after that there’s two locations in lisbon as well. what i really want though is to go to the original!
