went to the pre-opening party of churchill last night and i can safely say there’s finally a neighborhood bar i’m excited about! created by the folks behind bloodhound and double dutch, the old bar on church/transfer space has been transformed in a world war II inspired hangout with a huge bar, reclaimed wood from an old canadian barn, lots of seating options, a pool table, more windows, and a tasty cocktail menu. tried the brooklyn, a slightly sweet rye cocktail. and the homefront, a twist on vodka lemonade. i’d go back for either (clearly, since i decided to have two of each last night), or for the light and sour telegraph reserve from their small and local beer list.
