tried a new and really interesting cocktail at nopa. had been drinking a dirty martini and wanted to switch it up but stick to something vodka based and not sweet so the bartender introduced me to a little something called the improved vodka cocktail. its vodka, a splash maraschino liquor, splash of absinthe, dash of bitters and some gum syrup. basically it was delicious and the perfect transition between my dirty martini and espresso martini.
from what i understand you can use any type of alcohol as the base, “improved” just means there’s absinthe in it.
it was also made with fair quinoa vodka, which i thought was fun too.
