eating and drinking… part 1

just went up to yountville again for a little anniversary food and drink getaway and i can’t even fit all the excitement into one post!

our trip started with a stop at four barrel for lattes and a maple bacon donut for the ride up. we, of course, couldn’t pass up a loop through the napa outlets. and finally arrived at bardessono where our stay started with a glass of white wine during check-in.

lunch at the bardessono bar was the perfect first meal. i got to indulge in my ongoing love of mule cocktails with a moscow mule that had vodka, fresh ginger and champagne for some added sparkle and flare. we ordered the beet salad with burrata (YUM!), pistachio, arugula and sherry vinegar and the grilled swordfish sandwich with slaw, cajun remoulade with capers, herb fries and housemade ketchup. it was delicious and the bartender was great company and made lunch that much better!

the rest of our time at bardessono was equally amazing. the room and bathroom are so amazing that you kinda just want to lock yourself in there the entire trip. and everytime we left and came back little magical elves had come through to leave us anniversary champagne and chocolates, or water with fresh citrus.

not to mention the luxury of pre-ordered room service breakfast, including blue bottle cappuccinos, fresh fruit and eggs. it was very very hard to leave so soon!
